We are glad to announce that the One Health Photo Competition is back with CYCLE 2!
At One Health and Development Initiative (OHDI), a key part of our mandate is to utilize innovative and creative ways to engage the public on correlated issues of human, animal, and environmental health while promoting the One Health movement across all relevant sectors.
One of our creative approaches to this is to establish the One Health Photo Competition which aims to promote image work of arts that have a One Health message or showcase an interaction between either human, animal, plant, or the environment. The first cycle of the One Health Photo Competition was launched in June 2020 and received 93 entries from 15 countries all over the world. We shortlisted 12 amazing photos as semi-finalists and Abdulafiz Shittu from Nigeria emerged Winner.
In this cycle, we will continue with our usual fashion to invite amateur and professional photographers/illustrators to partake in the One Health Photo Competition and provide relevant still images and illustrations. The theme for the One Health Photo Competition Cycle 2 is “Food Security and Livelihoods”, therefore your photograph should depict from an artistic and a descriptive point of view – stories, impressions, or occurrences around areas of livestock/crop farming and agriculture, and their impact on food security and livelihoods for humans and/or animals.
Photos illustrating the crucial interaction between the above-described contexts will be given priority in the final shortlist. The creativity of the photo caption will also be considered.
