The West African Research Centre (WARC) Travel Grant promotes Intra-African cooperation and exchange among researchers and institutions by providing support to African scholars and graduate students for research visits to other institutions and regions on the continent.
Benefits
The Grant supports travel costs for up to $1500 and a stipend of $1,500 and may be used for one or more of the following
- To attend and present papers at academic conferences held on the continent of Africa
- To engage in collaborative work with colleagues at another African institution
- Travel to a research site in Africa
Eligibility
Applicant must be a West African national and those affiliated with West African colleges, universities, and research institutions will be prioritized. Also, women are strongly encouraged to apply
The key application requirements include an Abstract (50-80 words) of the proposed activity, project/research description, proposed budget, curriculum vitae, photocopy of the applicant’s passport (must be a West African national), and a recommendation letter.
