Frontier Technology Livestreaming, an award-winning DFID program is looking for an independent technical expert in Agriculture to support the development of one of their latest pilots — Unlocking agricultural input markets through e-commerce. This pilot aims to test whether an e-commerce model can be used to deliver input supplies to small scale agricultural producers and processors in remote parts of Nigeria. Working in collaboration with the Frontier Tech Hub and the DFID E-Commerce for Small Scale Agriculture pilot owner, the independent technical expert will provide strategic advice and guidance to the Konga team who are leading the pilot’s implementation until September 2020.
The independent technical expert will bring knowledge of agriculture in Nigeria including knowledge of input suppliers/ aggregators and different value chains, as well as an understanding of the challenges involved in developing commercially viable B2B/B2C models targeting farmers in remote rural areas. They will also have experience of working with agtech or tech companies — particularly large Nigerian e-commerce providers and prior experience using user-centered design and lean/agile methodologies.
