One Health Insights Article Submission

One Health Insights is a platform dedicated to fostering collaboration, sharing knowledge, and promoting awareness of the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health.

Please carefully review the guidelines below before sending in a written work. The editors are happy to discuss ideas with potential authors and respond to any inquiries

The potential audience for One Health Insights blog includes health professionals, researchers, policymakers, government agencies, partners, One Health enthusiasts, educators, NGOs, students, and the general public interested in understanding the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health. We aim to create content that is clear and concise, avoids jargon, and presents a well-defined perspective on topics relevant to the audience of One Health Insights. Please submit written works as standalone pieces, even if they are part of or summarize a larger body of work or journal article. If your submission has been published elsewhere online, please indicate this in the form and provide a link to the original source for reference. Additionally, we request that you obtain permission from the original publishers before reproducing content.

In-text citations should be hyperlinked to guide readers to online sources, particularly for contentious claims. Reference listing should adhere to the American Psychological Association (APA) style. It is advisable not to exceed 10 links per article.

Submitted works will undergo review by the One Health Insights team. Our editors will endeavor to promptly respond to each submission via email. However, please anticipate a processing time of 7-10 working days. Upon approval, there may be a brief exchange for further refinement before content is published. Editorial feedback may be provided to improve readability and accessibility. Authors will have the opportunity to review any substantive changes made prior to online publication.

  • To ensure readability and accessibility, we will only consider submissions within the range of 500 to 750 words. However, exceptions may be granted at the discretion of the editors.
  • Submissions should be in Word document (.doc, .docx) format or as a link to a Google document; PDFs will not be accepted.
  • If feasible and where relevant, please include 1-2 high-quality ethical images/photos (JPEG/PNG format) with appropriate captions and proper credit. Authors must have the rights to the images submitted or must have obtained rights for the same. The editors reserve the right to approve or reject accompanying images, preferring original ones directly related to the topic, accurately depicting the local context without perpetuating stereotypes or biases.
  • Ensure your title is concise, ideally under 20 words or 150 characters. Titles serve to captivate readers’ attention, so clarity and relevance are key. Your title should effectively communicate the topic and encapsulate the essence of your piece for the reader.
  • All content must be submitted in English.
  • Authors are encouraged to use bold font for section headers to enhance readability and provide structure for the reader.
  • Additionally, we request all authors to include a brief biography (maximum 100 words) as they wish it to appear in the publication. Biographies should include the author’s name, institutional affiliation and position, and the focus of their work. Please provide links to your LinkedIn page and/or professional website, as well as any relevant social media handles, allowing readers to contact you for further information.
