One Health and Development Initiative (OHDI) is a nonprofit organization that works to promote education, advocacy, and solutions to correlated issues of human, animal, and environmental health using the integrated “One Health” approach. Our mission is rooted in the belief that public health issues are intertwined across the human, animal, and environmental ecosystems thereby requiring a holistic approach to effective and sustainable solutions.
OHDI seeks qualified personnel residents in Ibadan to fill up the following available positions.
FINANCE/ADMIN ASSISTANT
The Finance/Admin Assistant will provide effective financial, administrative, and accounting support to the organization with supervision from the Finance Officer. S/he will implement and manage various financial, administrative, and accounting systems, processes, and procedures while adhering to all OHDI’s financial manual and policy as well as good accounting practices.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Support and assist the implementation of financial and practices including cash management, payroll, financial disbursements, ledgers, account balance management, tax remittance, tax return compilation, activity budget reviews, etc.
- Assists in entering financial information and maintaining all financial records and receipts for projects and operations.
- Implement and manage financial internal control systems in line with the organization’s finance policy.
- Provide inputs for proposal and budget development, project management, and other areas of administration.
- Ensure completeness, proper documentation, reviews, and proper filing of all payment requests and vouchers.
- Assist with audit preparation, auditor reviews, and implementation of recommendations as directed.
- Overseeing clerical tasks, such as sorting and sending emails and answering phone calls.
- Create and update records ensuring accuracy and validity of the information.
- Resolve office-related malfunctions and respond to requests or issues
- Keeping an inventory of office supplies and ordering new materials as needed.
- All other relevant duties as assigned by the Finance Manager and Executive Director
Qualifications
- At least an OND qualification in Finance or Accounting.
- Minimum 1 year of full-time work experience in accounting and/or finance or proven experience as an office assistant, customer service, or any relevant administrative role.
- Good written and spoken communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft office; working knowledge of QuickBooks is an advantage.
- A strong sense of ethics and honesty with attention to detail is mandatory.
- Working knowledge (or ability to receive training) of office equipment and office management procedures
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Must be resident in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria
MONITORING AND EVALUATION (M&E) OFFICER
The M&E Officer will formulate and execute M&E plans and frameworks of projects run by the organization. S/he will also facilitate effective reviews, implementation, and reporting of the organization’s strategic plan, annual work plan, and M&E plan to ensure project objectives are met in line with established organizational goals.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Coordinate implementation of M&E activities across the organization’s project and ensure minimum standards are adhered to.
- Coordinate the design and implementation of monitoring sample surveys, impact assessments, and evaluations
- Coordinate data collection activities across the various functions
- Organize M&E technical and training meetings with staff and stakeholders to ensure regular project planning, review progress, and document lessons/address challenges encountered.
- Align M&E with projects and organizational objectives, develop monitoring tools and integrate M&E in work plans and across all program components.
- All other relevant duties as assigned by the Executive Director
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant public health and/or social science or related discipline
- Minimum of 1-year work experience in M&E, with a theoretical and practical background in M&E including managing and developing M&E systems.
- Good written and spoken communication skills
- Good knowledge of statistics/biostatistics, fundamental research methodology, and relevant applications for statistical analysis
- A strong sense of ethics and honesty with attention to detail is mandatory
- Ability to undertake field visits (where necessary) and interact with different stakeholders
- Must be resident in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria.
FUNDRAISING OFFICER
The Fundraising Officer will be responsible for developing and implementing fundraising strategies and activities to secure funds and resources necessary for the operation of the organization. S/he will also work to take over responsibility for maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and donors and raising significant funds appropriately as well as develop new funding opportunities.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a coordinated fundraising strategy.
- Identify donor prospects, research donor focus areas in line with OHDI’s focus areas, and contribute to bid writing for grant/trust applications.
- Facilitate the development of donor materials such as donation letters, proposals, presentations, and emails.
- Co‐ordinate and plan OHDI events, and network at events, programs, and other informal settings to initiate fundraising via event sponsorship, corporate donation, project partnership, etc.
- Inspire new supporters to mobilize resources, while maintaining and developing relationships with existing supporters
- Coordinate web-based fundraising including social media
- Planning, budgeting, and forecasting income
- Preparation of fundraising report for internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintaining the fundraising database and documents.
- Handling donor acknowledgments and thank you letters.
- All other relevant duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- At least, a first degree in relevant public health and/or social science-related discipline.
- Minimum 1 year of full-time work experience in business marketing and/or nonprofit fundraising.
- Knowledge and/or experience of ‘One Health’ issues is a major advantage. (Also check OHDI Focus Areas of Work)
- Experience in partnership broker and/or negotiation skills with the private and public sectors are an advantage.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- Good representational skills and public speaking.
- A strong sense of ethics and honesty with attention to detail is mandatory.
- Must be resident in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria.
