As we mark International Mother Earth Day this year under the theme “Planet vs. Plastics”, we at One Health and Development Initiative support the call for urgent action against plastic pollution.
Plastics, a once modern marvel, now pose one of the gravest threats to our environmental and public health—seeping into our waterways, suffocating wildlife, and infiltrating our ecosystems with microplastics that come back to us through the food chain.
On this Earth Day, we are amplifying our commitment to a sustainable future with the following call to action:
Educate about the impacts of plastic pollution on health and ecosystems.
Innovate by supporting alternatives and solutions that reduce reliance on plastics.
Advocate for policies that minimize plastic production and waste.
We stand with Earthday.org’s vision for a 60% reduction in plastic production by 2040 and the complete phase-out of single-use plastics by 2030. Our health, and the planet’s, depend on it.
Join us in pushing for a future where we are not defined by our waste. A future where every day is Earth Day.
