The Africa Research Excellence Fund (AREF) is delighted to announce the 2024/25 call for applications to its prestigious Research Development Fellowship Programme. This programme is designed to support emerging research leaders in Africa, allowing them to develop their research skills by undertaking placements at leading institutions across the UK, Europe, or Africa. Successful applicants will receive up to £47,000 in funding, which covers travel, accommodation, and training costs.
Eligible candidates include early-career researchers, such as post-doctoral scientists and clinicians, who are nationals of and employed in Africa. Fellows will gain valuable experience through a three to nine-month placement, with additional support provided at their home institutions before and after their placement.
