One Health and Development Initiative (OHDI)

One Health and Development Initiative (OHDI) is a nonprofit organization committed to advancing human, animal, plant, and ecosystem health through an integrated One Health approach. As part of our focus areas in the farmed animal welfare space, we have led foundational work to improve hen welfare and promote ethical, safe, and sustainable poultry systems in Nigeria. Following successful baseline research, training, policy engagement, advocacy, and stakeholder mobilization, OHDI is expanding and scaling its efforts nationally. This program aims to drive poultry system transformation through enhanced animal welfare practices, support for farmer transition, consumer and corporate engagement, and policy reforms.

To lead this strategic initiative, OHDI is recruiting a dedicated Program Manager for the project – Poultry Welfare and Sustainable Systems (POWELS) to coordinate and manage its implementation. The Program Manager will be responsible for leading, coordinating, and overseeing all aspects of the poultry welfare and sustainable systems program. This includes strategy execution, team management, partner coordination, monitoring and evaluation, reporting, and high-level advocacy support.

This is a unique opportunity for a passionate leader with expertise and networks in Nigeria’s poultry ecosystem, sustainable food systems, agribusiness, and policy to shape the future of ethical, safe, and sustainable poultry systems in Nigeria.
