Gates Foundation is the world’s largest nonprofit fighting poverty, disease, and inequity, and is seeking a Senior Program Officer – Health and Innovation to join their Global Development Program team in Africa. This role is pivotal in developing and managing a complex portfolio of grants to support health system strengthening across the continent, in line with the Foundation’s Africa strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to improve health services in Africa.
- Manage grants and contracts, ensuring high-quality implementation and evaluation.
- Collaborate with regional health authorities and development partners.
- Support health service delivery improvements across various health areas.
- Promote innovation in health service coverage and quality.
- Represent the Foundation in high-level meetings and partnerships.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D., MD, or equivalent in a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in health programs in Francophone Africa, focusing on health systems strengthening.
- Full professional proficiency in French and excellent communication skills in English.
- Proven track record in managing complex health program deliveries and achieving significant results.
