Empowering Youth to Drive One Health and AMR Action in Their Communities
The One Health Ambassadors Programme (OHAP) is a capacity-building and engagement initiative of the One Health and Development Initiative (OHDI) designed to equip young professionals, students, and community advocates with the knowledge, skills, and tools needed to advance One Health and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) awareness, advocacy, and action.
OHAP focuses on strengthening youth leadership in One Health by providing structured learning, practical engagement opportunities, and platforms for collaboration across human, animal, and environmental health sectors. Through training, mentorship, and community-based activities, the programme supports ambassadors to translate technical One Health and AMR concepts into clear, culturally relevant messages that resonate with diverse audiences, including underserved and hard-to-reach communities.
By amplifying youth voices and linking grassroots engagement with national and global One Health priorities, OHAP contributes to more inclusive, sustainable, and people-centred approaches to AMR mitigation and One Health practice.
Structured learning sessions on One Health principles, AMR, science communication, and community engagement.
Youth-led awareness activities targeting communities, informal sectors, and marginalized groups to promote responsible antimicrobial use and One Health thinking.
Supporting ambassadors to use digital platforms, storytelling, and campaigns to amplify One Health and AMR messages.
Creating pathways for peer learning, collaboration, and continued engagement within OHDI’s broader One Health ecosystem.
