One Health and Development Initiative (OHDI) is a nonprofit organization advancing One Health and sustainable development by addressing the interconnected challenges of human, animal, plant, and environmental health. Through donor-funded programs, capacity strengthening initiatives, digital tools, and social enterprise services, OHDI works to drive holistic, systems-oriented solutions that improve lives and ecosystems.
As part of our continued growth, we are strengthening our internal fundraising and revenue-generation systems. We are therefore seeking a talented and motivated Resource Mobilization & Business Development Coordinator to support our long-term sustainability and impact.
Overview of Position
The Resource Mobilization & Business Development Coordinator will lead the identification, development, and engagement of funding and revenue opportunities for OHDI. This role blends traditional nonprofit fundraising such as grant sourcing, proposal writing, and donor engagement with business development for OHDI’s products and services, including certification programs, digital platforms, training services, and consulting opportunities.
The ideal candidate is a strong writer, strategic thinker, relationship builder, and self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset and a passion for One Health.
Key Responsibilities
1. Fundraising & Grant Mobilization
- Maintain a pipeline of funding opportunities across foundations, public institutions, philanthropies, and private sector.
- Lead and coordinate proposal development, concept notes, organizational brochures, pitchdecks, and unsolicited applications
- Track reporting timelines and support preparation of narrative and financial reports
- Maintain donor engagement systems including calendars, trackers, profiles, and contact information
2. Business Development & Earned Income Generation
- Identify monetization opportunities for OHDI’s digital tools, certification programs, training, consulting services, and events.
- Conduct market research, pricing assessments, and value proposition development
- Package OHDI offerings into sellable formats with program leads
- Develop pitch decks, outreach materials, and business proposals.
- Support initial client engagement and partnership outreach
3. Strategy Development
- Lead the creation of OHDI’s first Resource Mobilization & Business Development Strategy
- Align strategy with OHDI’s Strategic Plan (2026 – 2030) and organizational priorities
- Develop tactical implementation roadmaps and conduct internal consultations
- Monitor, evaluate, and adjust strategic approaches for RM & BD as needed
4. Partnership Building & Stewardship
- Map and cultivate relationships with local and international donors, institutions, CSR departments, and high-net-worth individuals
- Support representation at virtual and in-person fundraising or business development forums
- Contribute to sponsorship packages, donor recognition initiatives, and impact updates
5. Systems, Learning & Knowledge Management
- Maintain a shared fundraising tracker and knowledge repository
- Assess internal resource mobilization practices and recommend improvements
- Support fundraising-related communications, including newsletters, briefs, and annual reports
Qualifications & Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Business, Public Health, Agriculture, Communications, or related fields
- At least, 3–5 years of experience in fundraising, grant writing, and/or business development
- Strong understanding of donor ecosystems and social enterprise models
- Demonstrated ability to independently develop proposals and manage donor engagement
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
- Proficiency with digital tools such as Google Workspace, Canva, and CRM platforms
- Strong creativity, initiative, analytical thinking, and collaborative ability
- Commitment to OHDI’s mission and understanding of One Health principles
Work Conditions and Contract Terms
Location: Remote (Flexible)
Contract Type: Full-Time, 1-Year Renewable
Reports To: Programs & Communications Coordinator (Administrative Supervision) and Executive Director (Strategic Oversight)
