The Food Systems and Safety Division is a recognized global leader in the provision of scientific advice
on food safety issues, to support the establishment of international standards for the safety and quality of
foods. The Food Systems and Food Safety Division (ESF) of the Economic and Social Development
Stream supports the strengthening and transformation of food systems, including the strengthening of
food safety and quality at national, regional and international levels.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop One health-focused food safety communication materials related to terrestrial and
aquatic animal production and health, plant production, water and land quality, etc.
Contribute to the development and implementation of food safety communication strategies.
Ensure products conform to corporate publishing standards and meet the needs of the target
audiences.
Support the development of communication products such as narrative reports, presentations on
various aspects of food safety and safe food production.
REQUIREMENTS/CORE COMPETENCIES
To be approved for this position, applicants must meet with the following prerequisites:
Having experiences related to Food safety, Public health, One health and Agriculture
communication.
A university degree in communication or related fields.
Minimum of five (5) years work experience in communicating science or health data to the
public.
Effluence in English and at least one other UN language.
Core competence in Teamwork, Building Effective Relationships, and lots more.
