Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is one of the most pressing health threats of our time, and empowering young voices is key to driving lasting change. The African Youths for AMR Communication Program, an initiative of OHDI led by the Stop Superbugs Squad, has taken a bold step in this direction.
Launched during World AMR Awareness Week (WAAW) 2024, the program’s first phase trained 41 youth champions and engaged 362 volunteers using a Train the Trainer Approach—amplifying the impact of AMR advocacy across diverse communities. From schools and universities to online campaigns and grassroots mobilization, these young leaders have been at the forefront of shaping the conversation on AMR prevention.
Our Impact Brochure highlights the program’s achievements, key insights, and the incredible efforts of the youth champions making a difference in the fight against AMR. Download it now to explore this project’s milestones, stories, and successes.
