Adeyeye Blessing Adewumi also knows as “one health nerd” is a passionate public health advocate and AMR Youth Champion committed to combating Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) through community-driven education, advocacy, and behavior change initiatives. With experience leading awareness campaigns across schools, healthcare facilities, communities, and vulnerable populations, he focuses on promoting responsible antimicrobial use and infection prevention practices. His work integrates the One Health approach, engaging both human and animal health stakeholders to address AMR sustainably. His primary goal is to strengthen community resilience against AMR while empowering young people and local communities to become active stewards of global health.
Key Impact Metric
- Reached 10,130+ individuals with antimicrobial resistance (AMR) education through community campaigns, school outreaches, healthcare engagements, and advocacy initiatives.
- Educated 100+ secondary school students, 15 nursing mothers, 35 IDP residents, and 10 veterinarians and pharmacists on AMR prevention, infection prevention, hygiene, vaccination, and responsible antimicrobial stewardship.
- Expanded AMR awareness to an estimated 10,000 radio listeners through bilingual (English and Yoruba) broadcasts, distributed hygiene intervention materials, and empowered community members and healthcare stakeholders to serve as AMR stewards.
